I liked it. I mean the brakes were grabby, it wasn't fast and it was kind of hard to see out of. Its instrument cluster made no sense and it had several of those GM quirks (the rear armrest that divides the 2 rear seats has to be removed and stored....somewhere...in order to fold down the rear seats) but it felt solid well made. The steering had good weight and the acceleration was...decent.

I'm not going to lie, it's on my list of things to own. Just waiting for the price to come down just a bit more (for the car and the charging install).

Prices are pretty low right now, my coworker got a great deal on his. Then again the new generations will be coming soon so I guess just before or right after the gen 1 prices will tank.

Your impressions sound much like mine.
It's unremarkable, but it would make a very nice commuter. I've given more than a little thought to leasing one as a daily.

Yeah, I'm waiting until gen 2. Mostly for the extended range. I don't need it but I might at some point soon....
I've looked into it, however, my negative equity on my current car is too high at the moment. I will have to wait.

Its been on my mind, it only takes so many days of 30 mile commutes at 13 mpg to think about it.

For what its worth I talked to my coworker about his trip to Idaho and using the range extender and he seemed to be very pleased with the operation, it was quite and he got...he says..."40 something" mpg, which if true is pretty great.

Whenever I think about it I don't even look long term, I just add up how much I'd save month to month if I drove a Volt to work instead of my car. I get 28 mpg or so, but I wouldn't need any gas to commute in a Volt. That's a pretty healthy chunk of change saved.
It's one of my 'if I had known better I'd have one now' scenarios. It's also my current 'if my car got totaled I would...' plan.

That's not bad at all considering what it's rated at. It's just sweetening the pot.
